Ja, Nein, Stop!

Ja, Nein, Stop! is an interactive classroom theater piece written by Antje Kilian and Jens Wirsching, and directed by Jörg Isermeyer for Theater Springinsfeld. Designed as a child abuse prevention program, the production travels to schools to help children playfully explore boundaries and emotional safety. I was commissioned to design the official promotional package, creating a highly illustrated poster and informational flyers.

The primary design challenge was to translate a heavy, sensitive educational topic into a gentle, non-threatening visual language. The artwork needed to project immediate warmth and security, empowering young children without causing fear. Additionally, the layout required a strategic typographical hierarchy to ensure that a dedicated crisis helpline number was instantly visible, clear, and easy for a child to remember.

To achieve this, my approach centered on a vibrant, comforting illustration style that mirrored the playful spirit of the play. I used welcoming character designs and a soft color palette to build an atmosphere of trust, seamlessly combining narrative imagery with clean space for the vital contact information. The final designs successfully bridge serious prevention education with engaging visual storytelling, delivering an impactful, protective resource for schools and families.
