All together now?

Project Overview

All Together Now is an official association (Verein) designed to foster connection, dialogue, and academic exchange among students, lecturers, and professors within the cultural studies department at the University of Hildesheim. As a graphic designer, I was tasked with creating a cohesive visual identity for this program, focusing on developing a brand that reflects a shared sense of academic community and cultural collaboration. The main design challenge was to create a visual identity that felt both professional enough for university faculty and welcoming enough for students, bridging the gap between academia and community. The branding needed to instantly communicate the concept of cultural exchange while paying direct homage to the local roots of the University of Hildesheim.

The Design Strategy

To solve this, my approach centered entirely on strategic color theory and local context. The final graphic system uses clean typography and structured layouts, creating a bold, unifying visual language that beautifully facilitates connection within the department.

Visual Symbolism

  • The Color Orange: I anchored the design around a vibrant orange—the international color representing culture, which also directly aligns with the identity of this specific university program.

  • Local Context: I integrated subtle visual nods to the Hildesheim background into the layouts, grounding the association in its geographic and cultural home.
